The Hunters - 1

"An Artic landscape, the cold horizon

of the sea and sky. Hunters go to sea,

carved talismans of protection, the only

mineral is ash."

The centre window is an oil painting, a vague horizon of an icy sea. The main layer is a panel of wood slashed violently representing the hunt. The grey color is powdered graphite fixed to the support. The color representing ash of the campfire. Handprints are made into the graphite, a man trying to control the environment. Last, there is a small piece of hand-carved driftwood that acts as a talisman, salt crystals were grown on the object to represent the salty surface ice.
