NOMAD COLLECTION

My second collection of ceramics, the work began with a trip in the Sonoran Desert of the American Southwest. Unlike earlier MYTHOS, which focused on a more godlike or heavenly influence, NOMAD is a reflection of the new landscape. I switched clay bodies to a multi-fired earthenware, then focused on the development of new shapes and glazing processes to mimic rock layers, cracked clay, and the build-up of material on a relic over time. A continuum of MYTHOS, like they had been dug up from the desert after thousands of years.
