MYTHOS COLLECTION ARCHIVE

The MYTHOS collection was my first serious ceramic collection spanning the course of three years. All are stoneware with self-developed glazes that require multiple firings. Unlike my previous abstract works AEONS, here I wanted to advance from the primitive past to the great civilizations of Greece, Persia and Rome. Learning to sculpt more literal forms like the “Greek” face became paramount. Now, the point is that for the first time man has real power over nature, seeing himself as a reflection of God and God as his reflection.

A hint to my next collection, NOMAD can be alluded to in the last works here called “Taken Over” and “Contemplating a River” where Nature starts to take its power back from us, using only the weapon of time.
